 | Greenhouse Growing In Poland |
Covering over 200 hectares in Poland, Kchesovicha, Pshebopove, Tchebovnetzko, Leonov, Miyeletz, the Greenhouse Project was intended to raise winter vegetables for export. Low yields, poor quality and short shelf life caused increased losses. Netafim began improving growing conditions by replacing the disease-ridden sprinkler system with Netafim P.C. and C.N.L. drippers computerized irrigation and fertilization system with climate control. Natural soil was also replaced with a soilless media. New varieties were introduced and Netafim's expert agronomist monitored the project's progress on-site. Yields rose from 100 to 300 tons per hectare of market for quality tomatoes.
