Netafim assists you to optimize scheduling of irrigation and nutrients application according to plant needs.
The amount of water needed for irrigation is determined mainly by the evapotranspiration rate. A meteorological station is the most widely used tool to evaluate the evapotranspiration rate. Adjustment to plant demand is made by multiplying the above measured rates with the relevant factor.
The factor is comprised of the crop phenological stage, soil cover and irrigation strategy. During the growing period, factor values vary between 0.2 and 0.8.
Irrigation scheduling is determined by meteorological data and tuned by soil moisture content and plant water status. Soil moisture status is monitored by moisture sensors, while plant water status can be determined by leaf or trunk water potential, fruit size, and trunk growth.
