Fertigation is not new. For decades, growers have used irrigation systems to deliver nutrients more efficiently. But the way fertigation is managed has changed significantly over time and that shift is becoming increasingly important as farming operations grow more precise, more data-driven, and more demanding.

Blueberries have moved from a regional specialty crop to a year-round global category. In the last decade, planted area and output have expanded quickly as new genetics, new regions, and new production systems reshaped what’s possible.

From the dawn of organized farming, through the mechanization of the 20th century, and into today’s precision irrigation and digital tools, each wave of innovation has reshaped how we grow food. Now, a fourth revolution is underway, powered by artificial intelligence (AI).

But behind every cup lies a story of farming under pressure. Coffee growers are facing rising global demand, shifting consumer preferences, and the very real impact of climate change.

I’m Carmel Porat, an agronomist at Netafim’s agricultural department and I’m responsible for overseeing research and development and agricultural trials both in Israel and internationally. I’m excited to share with you the incredible impact of this unique space—Netafim’s Precision Agriculture Center.

Looking back at my years at Netafim, I can see a fascinating journey of learning, innovation, and overcoming challenges. 

I started working at Netafim during my B.Sc., as a materials engineering student at Kibbutz Hatzerim production site. What began as a brief training on the production floor turned into a deep passion for manufacturing processes through an unfiltered learning experience in real-world operations.

When you work in the same company for almost 30 years, people often ask, "Don’t you ever get tired of it?" My answer is always the same; not for a second. Not when you’re at a place like Netafim, driven by innovation, where no two days are alike. There’s always a new challenge, a new idea to explore, and a new opportunity to make a difference.

When people hear the word Regen, they often think it’s just another corporate sustainability initiative. But for me, Regen, and the broader mission of recycling and circularity is deeply personal. It’s not just about running a project or ticking a corporate responsibility box. It's about shaping the future we leave behind.

My name is Chitralekha Devi, and I live in Saraikela, a small village in Jharkhand. I come from a family of farmers, we’ve been growing vegetables such as tomatoes, cucumbers, brinjal, and cauliflower for generations. Farming is in our roots, but for many years, it was a struggle. Like many in our area, we worked hard but lacked access to quality seeds, fertilizers, or the right advice. That changed in 2020, when I opened a Better Life Farming center.
