Ensuring High Quality Potato Seedlings for Pepsico’s World Famous Potato Chips

Creating the ideal growing environment for PepsiCo’s farmers to deliver consistently excellent seed potatoes​

PepsiCo’s farmers in Thailand must grow potatoes with consistently uniform characteristics to meet the high quality standards of the company’s world famous potato chips. In order to achieve a uniform yield and high quality tubers (potato plant seedlings), PepsiCo required the construction of a tailor-made, climate-controlled nursery environment with an emphasis on disinfection. The nursery - covering almost 20,000m2 – comprised 13 separated units of greenhouses connected by U-shape corridor and included pad & fan cooling systems and automated irrigation and fertigation units. This project, is an expansion of a previous Netafim greenhouse project, built on PepsiCo’s prior knowledge and Netafim’s agronomic and technical expertise.
