Growing high sugarcane yields in tough conditions with Precision Irrigation
The Senegalese Sugar Company needed to expand its cane plantation into a desert-like region with poor soils and limited water. Netafim’s expertise enabled the design of an irrigation system tailored to harsh conditions. Despite challenges, CSS achieved high yields of 150-160 tons per hectare, extended ratoon life and increased sucrose content by 2%, resulting in a rapid return on investment with reduced water, labor, and fertilizer costs.
